Knauf rack-mount profile (PS) is manufactured in accordance with TU 1121-004-04001508-2003 and is a long-length element made by cold rolling on modern roll-forming equipment from a thin steel strip.

Application

Knauf guide metal profiles are C-shaped and serve, as a rule, as vertical racks of frames intended for gypsum plasterboard partitions and claddings. They are used for the construction of frames for interior partitions, claddings and other structures based on Knauf board (GKL, GKLN, GKLNO) and Knauf super-board.

Installation process

They are usually used in conjunction with guide profiles of the same type and size.

Recommendations

  •  Cutting points of galvanized profiles do not need corrosion protection.
  •  The boards must be installed in the same direction as the open part of the profile. This will ensure that the screws are driven closer to the wall and will not bend into the profile flange.

    Advantages

  •  It provides tight, without gaps and deformation of the shelves of the guide profile, docking.
  •   The size of the shelf of the Knauf rack-mount profile (50 mm) greatly facilitates the master’s work in installing screws in the process of fastening gypsum boards, especially with two-layer coating, since there is practically no chance of a screw getting past the profile shelf.
  •  The advantage of Knauf profiles (PS) is also the presence of longitudinal grooves on the profile shelf, which increases its rigidity. In addition, the central groove is also a reference point, both for precise assembly of the frame and for installing plasterboards.
  •  There are two 33 mm diameter holes in the wall, at each end of the profile, which allow the installation of engineering communications over the partitions and claddings.
